From Lockdown to Plant Kingdom: The Journey of The Bearded Plantaholic

If you’d told me a few years ago that a beard, a jungle of plants, and a phone would change my life — I’d have laughed. But here we are.

It all started during lockdown. Like many of you, I was told to find my people. So, I picked up my phone, turned the camera towards my house jungle, and began sharing my passion on Instagram. What started as a few posts about my ever-growing plant collection quickly became something bigger than I could have ever imagined.

Over time, my little green corner of the internet grew roots across the world. TV crews came to film inside my jungle. I was featured on Gardeners’ World, filmed for Britain’s Outrageous Homes, and even won an RHS medal for my work. Radio stations, newspapers, and magazines wrote about this crazy indoor oasis I had built. I got invited to plant shows, asked to host workshops, and blessed with opportunities to meet thousands of fellow plant lovers — from Ireland to France, Australia to America.

And who knew this was even possible? Plants brought us together.

As the years rolled on, what started as a hobby transformed into my lifestyle. Propagating, growing, and sharing became more than just a pastime — it became my calling.

One day, I decided to take the biggest leap of faith of my life. I invested in a lorry and converted it into a plant haven on wheels — the Plantaholic Haven. This is now where I house decades’ worth of rare plants, propagations, and jungle treasures. Honestly, I feel old even saying that — decades! — but every leaf, every root, carries a story.
