Soil Yourself: my own dry substrate blend
If you’ve only just wandered into my leafy little universe, hello. Yes, Soil Yourself is a real product. Yes, I chose the name. No, I’m not growing up.
It’s my premium dry substrate blend for making your own houseplant potting mix. I mix it in small batches myself, with help from my little orange cement mixer, then pack the bags by hand.
Each 1.15kg bag brings together pine bark, sphagnum moss, perlite, vermiculite, worm castings, horticultural grit, LECA, mycorrhizal fungi and seaweed. You add your own compost following my mixing guide, so you can adjust the finished texture for your plants and growing conditions.
It saves you sourcing and storing every separate ingredient. More time getting your hands dirty; fewer half-used bags taking over the cupboard.
