Why I Keep Coming Back (And Why This Year’s Even Bigger)

I don’t put my name behind things lightly.

I come back because this expo attracts people who actually want to learn, not just collect. People who ask why a plant behaves the way it does. People who’ve killed plants, learned from it, and came back for more.

“The Big Plant Expo logo with bold green and red lettering on a white background, representing a large international plant event.”

That’s my crowd.

And this year, I’m not coming alone.

I’m bringing some friends with me.

My mate Sydney Plant Guy (Yann) will be there, bringing his trademark calm chaos and serious plant knowledge. If you’ve followed him for any amount of time, you already know the vibe. Thoughtful, grounded, and quietly brilliant.

Kaylee Ellen is flying over too, and if you’ve ever watched her content, you’ll know the energy, education, and passion she brings into any room she walks into.

“Two well-known plant creators standing among large tropical houseplants indoors, surrounded by lush green foliage and rare statement plants.”

So expect a fun-packed weekend.

Talks. Chats. Laughs. Learning.

The kind of plant conversations you don’t get standing in a queue at a garden centre.

I’ll be there all weekend meeting people, answering questions, talking plants, and doing what I love most, helping people understand their plants instead of battling them.

I’m Bringing My Book Too

This part means a lot to me.

I’ll also be bringing copies of my book, You’re Overwatering It, with me to the Expo.

If you’ve already got a copy, bring it along.

If you haven’t yet, you’ll be able to grab one there.

“Book cover of ‘You’re Overwatering It’ by Jonny Balchandani, showing a hand holding a houseplant on a bright yellow background with bold text and jungle-inspired design.”

I’ll be signing them in person, chatting plants, answering questions, and hopefully putting a face to a username we’ve both seen on a screen for years.

That never gets old.

It’s genuinely one of the better VIP setups I’ve seen at a plant event.

Use My Code (And Why It Actually Matters)

If you’re planning on coming, use my ticket code:

BPA10

It gets you 10% off your ticket, but more importantly…

Every ticket bought using my code goes into a giveaway linked directly to me. That means the winner is someone who actually cares about plants, learning, and this community. Not a random freebie hunter.

It supports the event, supports me being there, and gives one of you something genuinely brilliant in return.

Grab tickets here:

Just don’t forget to enter BPA10 at checkout.

If You’ve Been Thinking “Maybe This Is My Year”

Let this be the nudge.

If you’ve:

  • fallen back in love with plants recently

  • felt stuck and needed fresh inspiration

  • wanted to meet people who speak fluent chlorophyll

  • needed a reminder why you started growing in the first place

Come.

I’ll be there.

Yann will be there.

Kaylee will be there.

The plants will be ridiculous.

The energy will be right.

And I promise you’ll leave feeling inspired, not intimidated.

One love,

Jonny xx
