The Biggest Houseplant Restock of 2026 Has Finally Arrived...

Biophytum zenkeri, a rare tropical "little tree plant" with delicate fern-like foliage that naturally folds its leaves at night and responds to changes in light.

There are very few things in life that still make me feel like a kid on Christmas morning.

Watching a brand-new leaf unfurl is one.

Finding a tenner in an old pair of jeans is another.

But nothing... absolutely nothing... beats the day a fresh plant shipment arrives.

The lorry disappears down the drive, I throw the paperwork somewhere "safe" (which usually means I'll spend twenty minutes looking for it later), and suddenly I'm surrounded by stacks of cardboard boxes. Every single one contains something that's travelled thousands of miles from rainforests, cloud forests and tropical mountains before somehow ending up here in rural Worcestershire.

Rare Monstera adansonii 'Indonesian Marble' displaying cream marbled fenestrated leaves.

I genuinely never get bored of it.

Every box is a surprise.

Sometimes it's a leaf so big it barely fits through the top of the box. Sometimes it's variegation so outrageous it looks like somebody's attacked it with a paintbrush. Sometimes it's a plant I've been trying to get hold of for months that somehow looks even better than I imagined.

This latest shipment might genuinely be my favourite of the year.

It's the biggest restock I've had in 2026 so far, packed with everything from easy-going houseplants that'll happily become your first tropical obsession, to genuine collector's specimens that disappear almost as quickly as they arrive.

One thing I've learnt after spending years surrounded by plants is this...

People don't really collect leaves.

They collect stories.

Every single plant has spent millions of years evolving to survive somewhere extraordinary. Every stripe, every ripple, every splash of variegation and every bizarre growth habit exists because, somewhere in the wild, it gave that plant an advantage.

Nature isn't just beautiful. It's unbelievably clever. So rather than simply telling you what's arrived... Come for a wander around the jungle with me.

Philodendron 'Silver Queen'

We'll start with a plant that proves you don't need outrageous colours to stop people in their tracks.

Philodendron 'Silver Queen' with large metallic silver-green leaves displayed in The Plantaholic Haven plant shop.

Silver Queen is effortlessly elegant.

Its broad metallic foliage changes throughout the day depending on how the light catches it. In the morning it almost glows silver. By the evening those same leaves take on warmer pewter tones that make the whole plant feel completely different.

It's one of those plants that photographs beautifully...

...but somehow still looks twice as good in person.

Philodendrons evolved climbing through the tropical forests of Central and South America, forever searching for tiny pockets of sunlight breaking through the canopy above. Give Silver Queen something to climb and every new leaf becomes larger, stronger and even more

impressive than the last. Not every plant has to shout. Some simply stand there looking ridiculously classy.

Philodendron Florida Beauty

Then there's Florida Beauty...

Which clearly looked at ordinary leaves and thought...

"Nah."

Every leaf is deeply lobed, wildly shaped and splashed with cream and lime variegation that simply can't be repeated.

Variegated Philodendron Florida Beauty with uniquely lobed cream and green leaves growing on a moss pole.

That's one of my favourite things about variegated plants.

Nature doesn't copy and paste.

No two leaves.

No two plants.

No two collections.

Exactly the same.

Every new leaf is a surprise, and honestly that's half the fun. You spend days waiting for it to unfurl wondering what masterpiece nature has painted this time.

Collectors absolutely adore Florida Beauty because it's never boring.

It keeps giving.

Anthurium veitchii

Known around the world as the King Anthurium...

And honestly...

The title fits.

In the cloud forests of Colombia these incredible leaves can eventually stretch well over two metres long, hanging beneath the canopy like giant green waterfalls.

Those deep ripples aren't there because somebody thought they looked cool.

They channel heavy tropical rain away from the leaf surface, helping prevent fungal problems.

That's the thing I love about plants.

Every wrinkle.

Every stripe.

Every strange shape.

It all solved a problem millions of years before humans decided it looked fantastic in the corner of a living room.

Owning a mature Veitchii feels less like owning a houseplant...

...and more like borrowing a tiny piece of rainforest.

Anthurium 'Red Crystallinum'

Anthurium 'Red Crystallinum' featuring velvety dark green leaves with striking white veins.

If velvet could photosynthesise...

It would probably look like this.

The rich, dark leaves almost absorb light instead of reflecting it, while brilliant white veins spread across each leaf like lightning frozen in slow motion.

It's one of those plants that makes people lean in closer.

They don't just glance at it.

They study it.

Underneath dense rainforest canopies these enormous leaves evolved to capture every tiny ray of sunlight filtering through the trees.

They're living solar panels.

And somehow they're absolutely gorgeous at the same time.

Monstera dubia

Juvenile Monstera dubia climbing a moss pole with silver patterned leaves pressed closely against the surface.

This might just be the cleverest plant in the building.

As a juvenile it hugs tree trunks so tightly it almost looks glued on.

Tiny leaves.

Silver markings.

Nothing particularly dramatic.

Then...

Everything changes.

As it climbs higher towards brighter light the leaves begin transforming.

They become larger.

The silver fades.

Eventually those famous Monstera holes begin appearing.

Scientists call this heteroblasty.

I call it one of nature's greatest magic tricks.

Buying a Dubia is like getting front-row seats to one of the best transformations in the plant world.

Monstera adansonii 'Indonesian Marble'

Rare Monstera adansonii 'Indonesian Marble' displaying cream marbled fenestrated leaves.

We've all seen an Adansonii.

This isn't one of those.

Cream marbling dances across every leaf in completely random patterns, making every plant genuinely unique.

Those famous holes aren't simply decorative either.

Many botanists believe they help strong tropical winds pass through the foliage without ripping the leaves apart.

Nature invented aerodynamics long before humans ever dreamed about aeroplanes.

Monstera deliciosa 'Bulbasaur'

Variegated Monstera deliciosa 'Bulbasaur' with chunky cream and green marbled foliage.

Yes...

It really is called Bulbasaur.

And yes...

It's every bit as cool as it sounds.

Chunky splashes of cream and green make every leaf look hand-painted, but here's something most people don't realise...

...Those white sections contain very little chlorophyll.

That means every green patch on the leaf is working overtime to feed the entire plant.

Imagine cycling uphill while carrying your mate on your shoulders.

That's basically what's happening.

And somehow...

It still looks absolutely incredible.

Rhaphidophora megasperma 'Gorilla Variegata'

Everything about this plant feels powerful.

Chunky stems.

Thick leaves.

Serious jungle energy.

As it climbs, those leaves become dramatically larger, rewarding patience like very few plants can.

It's one of those species that makes visitors stop halfway through the shop and ask...

"What on earth is THAT?"

They're usually still talking about it half an hour later.

Scindapsus 'Mayari Variegata'

Scindapsus 'Mayari Variegata' with satin silver foliage and cream variegation growing indoors.

Not every beautiful plant needs to be loud.

Mayari whispers.

Silvery satin foliage catches the light with a soft shimmer created by microscopic air pockets inside the leaves.

Nature literally engineered this plant to sparkle.

No filters.

No editing.

Just evolution doing what evolution does best.

Elegant.

Timeless.

Dangerously addictive.

Kaempferia pulchra 'Variegata'

Kaempferia pulchra 'Variegata' showing beautifully patterned variegated tropical foliage.

This one is wonderfully weird.

For part of the year...

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Then, seemingly overnight, it bursts from the soil producing beautifully patterned foliage that looks more like luxury fabric than a houseplant.

Many first-time owners panic when it disappears.

Don't.

It's simply resting.

Sometimes the cleverest thing a plant can do...

Is absolutely nothing until the time is right.

There's probably a life lesson hiding in there somewhere.

Adenia perrieri

Adenia perrieri caudiciform plant with swollen trunk and climbing stems displayed in a pot.

If aliens grew bonsai...

This would probably be one.

Its swollen trunk stores huge reserves of water, allowing it to survive harsh droughts in Madagascar before bursting back into life when the rains finally return.

It's bizarre.

It's sculptural.

It's unlike almost anything else you'll ever own.

The older it becomes...

The more character it develops.

Some plants grow.

This one ages beautifully.

Schefflera 'Luseana Variegata'

Schefflera 'Luseana Variegata' with beautifully marbled cream and green umbrella-shaped leaves.

Forget everything you think you know about Scheffleras.

This isn't the office plant sitting in reception.

Cream and emerald marbling transforms every leaf into living artwork while its naturally tree-like habit makes it feel more like a tropical specimen than a traditional houseplant.

Sometimes plants deserve a second chance.

This one deserves everyone's attention.

Philodendron gloriosum 'Zebra'

Philodendron gloriosum 'Zebra' with large velvety leaves, bright white veins and striped petioles.

Most Philodendrons spend their lives climbing.

Gloriosum has other ideas.

It crawls.

Slowly making its way across the forest floor, producing enormous velvet leaves decorated with brilliant white veins and beautifully striped stems.

It's proof that you don't always have to race towards the top.

Philodendron 'Jose Buono'

Philodendron 'Jose Buono' with oversized paddle-shaped leaves and cream variegation.

Jose Buono has become one of the most sought-after Philodendrons in recent years, and it's easy to see why.

Huge paddle-shaped leaves emerge with wildly unpredictable splashes of cream variegation, meaning every single new leaf feels like opening a birthday present.

Some arrive mostly green.

Others look as though somebody has flicked white paint across them.

The excitement never really disappears.

That's why collectors love it so much.

Fancy Choosing Your Own?

Rare tropical houseplants displayed inside The Plantaholic Haven in Worcestershire, with Philodendrons, Monsteras and collector's plants ready to choose in person.

As much as I love packing plants and sending them all over the UK, nothing beats seeing them in person.

Photos can never truly show the shimmer on a Silver Queen, the texture of a Veitchii leaf or that feeling when you spot the one tucked away on a shelf waiting for you.

That's exactly why I love opening up The Plantaholic Haven.

You can wander through the jungle at your own pace, compare specimens side by side, ask as many questions as you like and choose the exact plant that steals your heart.

No pressure.

No rush.

Just thousands of beautiful plants and a bearded bloke who'll happily spend far too long talking about leaves.

Or Browse the Entire Restock Online

Believe it or not, this article has only scratched the surface. Beyond these favourites sits an incredible collection of Alocasias, Epipremnums, Begonias, Rhaphidophoras, palms, ferns, Hoyas, ZZ plants and dozens more waiting to find their forever homes.

If one of these plants has caught your eye, I can almost guarantee there are ten more waiting to do exactly the same.

So grab a brew, have a proper browse and see which one chooses you.

Because if there's one thing I've learnt after years of doing this...

The plant you tell yourself you'll "come back for next week" has an annoying habit of finding somebody else's living room first.

I can't wait for these incredible plants to begin their next chapter.

Hopefully...

One of them is with you!

One Love Tiny Phone People,

Jonny xxx
