WE SOLD EVERY SINGLE PLANT. So Obviously We’re Doing It Again

.

Well.

That escalated beautifully.

Our latest Instagram Live plant sale completely sold out.

Not nearly sold out.

Not “we’ve got three sad plants and a wonky Begonia left” sold out.

Every. Single. Plant.

Gone.

And more importantly, for a couple of hours our little corner of Instagram was absolute chaos in the best possible way.

So, naturally, we’ve decided to do the sensible thing…

Honestly, Thank You

Before I start dangling more plants in front of you, I genuinely want to say thank you.

Whether you bought one plant, several plants, tried desperately to buy something and got beaten to it, or just sat there watching the madness unfold, thank you for joining us.

The messages afterwards have been bloody lovely too.

So many of you told us how much you enjoyed watching, how much you laughed and how much you loved the absolute chaos of it all.

And I think that’s the bit that surprised us most.

Obviously we wanted to sell plants. I do have a business to run and an alarming ability to keep buying more of the bloody things.

But it became much more than an online plant sale.

It felt like a proper little gathering of tiny phone people.

People chatting.

People laughing.

People frantically trying to claim plants.

Charlotte and me attempting to maintain some vague illusion that we knew what we were doing.

The chaos is real.

And we bloody loved it.

Every Single Plant Sold

I’m still slightly stunned by this.

Everything sold.

Every plant we put up for sale during the Instagram Live found a new home.

There’s something wonderfully ridiculous about standing surrounded by plants at the beginning of the evening and finishing with basically nothing left.

And after the last few weeks, the whole thing gave us a lift that I don’t think we realised we needed.

It cheered us up no end.

You lot did that.

So thank you.

Apparently the first Live sale was the horticultural equivalent of a line of coke because we finished it and immediately thought:

Again.

So…

Saturday 22nd August 2026

7PM

@TheBeardedPlantaholic

Round two is officially happening.

And I’ve been rummaging.

This Time, There Are Caladiums. LOTS of Caladiums.

If you’re a Caladium lover, Saturday could be dangerous.

I’ve got a load of Caladiums coming into the Live sale, including plants that aren’t even listed on our website.

That’s one of the things I want these Live sales to become.

Not just another way of selling whatever happens to already be sitting online, but a chance to pull out interesting plants, unusual bits, one-offs and things you might not otherwise see.

So if you regularly browse our online plant shop and think you know what we’ve got…

You don’t.

Not this time.

Mum Is Getting Involved Too

And this is where things become even more unpredictable.

Some of my mum’s plants are going into Saturday’s Live sale.

Which means we’re straying beyond my usual houseplant territory.

There will even be…

CACTI AND SUCCULENTS.

I know.

Steady yourselves.

So alongside the tropical houseplants and Caladiums, we’ll have some completely different plants appearing throughout the evening too.

And because some of these are Mum’s plants rather than regular website stock, once they’re gone…

They’re gone.

Why We’re Loving the Live Plant Sales

I think online shopping can sometimes become a bit sterile.

Click.

Basket.

Checkout.

Done.

Useful? Absolutely.

But plants have never felt like that to me.

They come with stories. Obsessions. Ridiculous wish lists. People showing each other leaves and getting far too excited about roots.

That’s why the Live worked.

It felt less like an online shop and more like all of us being shoved into the same enormous virtual plant room for a couple of hours.

Except nobody had to put trousers on.

That is the future I was promised.

Missed Out Last Time?

This is your second chance.

The first Live sold out completely, and judging by how quickly some plants disappeared, I wouldn’t spend Saturday evening making a cup of tea at 7:03pm and expecting civilisation to wait for you.

Get yourself onto Instagram for 7pm this Saturday.

Come for a plant.

Come for the Caladiums.

Come for Mum’s cacti and succulents.

Or buy absolutely bugger all and just come and watch us slowly lose control of the situation.

You are completely welcome either way.

That part matters.

You never have to buy something to be part of this community.

Live Plant Sale Round Two

So here we go again.

More plants.

Loads of Caladiums.

Plants you won’t find on the website.

Some of Mum’s collection.

Cacti.

Succulents.

Houseplants.

And absolutely no guarantee that Charlotte and I will have any idea what is happening by 7:17pm.

The first one sold out.

Every.

Single.

Plant.

If you missed your fix, Saturday is your chance.

And if you enjoyed the first one so much that you just want another…

Apparently we’re your dealers now.

See you Saturday, tiny phone people.

One love, Jonny ❤️🫶🏽🪴
