Anthurium ‘King of Clarinervium’ — The Monarch of Contrast
You can spot a Clarinervium from across the room — those heart-shaped leaves and stark white veins, bold enough to make any plant nearby look ordinary. But King of Clarinervium? That’s the next evolution. It’s what happens when elegance decides to get serious.
This cultivar boasts thicker leaves, sharper veining, and a darker, richer green — a velvet heart laced with lightning. Each leaf seems to glow from within, like moonlight caught in foliage.
In Mexico’s limestone forests, where this species originates, roots cling to rock, drawing in the minerals that give its leaves that distinctive sheen. Indoors, recreate that magic with a chunky, well-draining mix and bright, filtered light. The King doesn’t tolerate neglect, but when treated with respect, it grows with royal consistency.
This is a plant that never fades into the background. Even young specimens look important — dignified, polished, confident. As it matures, the veins become whiter, the texture more pronounced, until it looks carved rather than grown.
To own a King of Clarinervium is to understand restraint — a reminder that luxury isn’t loud; it’s precise. The King doesn’t compete for attention. It commands it.
Anthurium 'King of Clarinervium Sulanjana' - 7cm / 20cm
The following aroid mix I would like to share with you is working well for my Anthurium:
- Potting Soil (30%)
- Orchid Bark (30%)
- Perlite (20%)
- Charcoal (5%)
- Worm Castings (15%)
Water thoroughly when watering to mimic tropical jungle conditions. It is best practice to keep the soil humid but never soggy.
