Begonia amphioxus is one of the most unusual Begonias in cultivation. Its narrow wing-like leaves are covered in vivid red spots, giving the plant an almost alien appearance.
Native to Borneo, this species grows in extremely humid rainforest conditions where it receives filtered light and constant airflow.
Because of its delicate leaves, Begonia amphioxus thrives best in terrarium environments or high humidity setups.
Interesting fact: The red spotting acts as a form of camouflage in the wild, helping the plant blend with mottled light patterns on the forest floor.
Care tips:
High humidity above 70 percent.
Bright but diffused light.
Keep soil consistently moist but well drained.

This speckled beauty came out punching as it even had some flowers on it. I just love the shape of the leaves. Fingers crossed, it will enjoy sharing our home with its leafy siblings.
