Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Aureum’

Sunshine That Climbs

Some plants brighten a room.

Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Aureum’ brightens your mood.

Drenched in vibrant shades of golden yellow, lime and rich emerald green, this stunning climbing aroid looks as though it’s been kissed by sunshine. Every leaf unfurls with its own unique blend of colour, making each new piece of growth another little surprise. It’s the kind of plant that refuses to be ignored, whether it’s climbing a moss pole or cascading from a shelf.

Native to the tropical rainforests stretching from Southeast Asia to the Pacific Islands, Epipremnum pinnatum is a born adventurer. In the wild it clambers up towering trees using aerial roots, chasing the light high above the forest floor. As it matures and gains height, the leaves begin to transform, developing dramatic splits and fenestrations that give the plant an entirely new personality.

‘Aureum’ takes that natural beauty and turns the brightness up a notch. The vivid variegation creates a striking contrast against the glossy foliage, bringing warmth and energy wherever it grows. Given something to climb, it will reward you with larger leaves, stronger growth and the unmistakable mature character that makes this species such a favourite among collectors.

It thrives in bright, indirect light where those golden tones can really shine, alongside a chunky, well-draining aroid mix that allows plenty of airflow around the roots. Water when the compost begins to dry, keep it warm and, if you can, offer a little extra humidity. It isn’t a demanding plant, but it certainly knows how to reward good care.

Some plants quietly fill a space.

Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Aureum’ fills it with light.

It’s proof that sometimes the brightest thing in a room isn’t the window…

It’s the leaf reaching towards it.

    • Potting Soil (30%)
    • Orchid Bark (30%)
    • Perlite (30%)
    • Charcoal (5%)
    • Worm Castings (5%)

Water thoroughly when watering to mimic tropical jungle conditions. It is best practice to keep the soil humid but never soggy.
