Scindapsus ‘Jade Satin Marble’
At first glance… it just looks green.
Thick leaves. Smooth. Slight sheen.
Then the pattern starts to show.
Not white splashes. Not silver flecks like a typical pictus.
It’s softer than that…
Muted marbling. Pale green, silvery tones, almost like someone’s breathed across the leaf and left a ghost of colour behind.
It doesn’t scream for attention.
It pulls you in.
Why this one hits
Most variegated plants go for contrast.
This goes for tone.
Deep jade base
Subtle marbling
Satin finish that catches light differently
It’s understated… but that’s exactly what makes it feel expensive.
And because it’s a Jade Satin base…
The leaves are thick. Almost leathery.
They hold themselves properly.
What you’re actually dealing with
This is a variegated form of Scindapsus pictus ‘Jade Satin’, which already has:
Thick, semi-matte leaves
Slower, more deliberate growth
A more “solid” feel than typical pothos types
The “Marble” mutation introduces that soft, blended variegation, usually in lighter green or silvery tones across the leaf surface
So instead of bold contrast…
You get depth.
Care (this is where people either get a lush plant… or a dull one)
Light is key here.
Bright, indirect light keeps the marbling visible.
Too dark… and it just turns into a flat green plant.
Watering wants restraint.
Let it dry out between waterings.
Those thick leaves hold moisture, so it’s much happier slightly dry than constantly wet.
And soil…
Keep it airy. Free draining.
This is still an aroid at heart.
You can trail it…
but give it a pole and it levels up.
Bigger leaves. Better pattern. Stronger presence.
The honest bit
This is not a “wow from across the room” plant.
It’s a close-up plant.
It’s the one people notice when they’re already standing in your jungle… and then ask about.
Who this is for
If you like:
Subtle variegation
Texture over colour
Plants that feel refined rather than loud
This is right in your lane.

Scindapsus Jade Satin Marble - 10.5cm/5cm
The following aroid mix I would like to share with you is working well for my Philodendrons:
- Potting Soil (30%)
- Orchid Bark (30%)
- Perlite (30%)
- Charcoal (5%)
- Worm Castings (5%)
Water thoroughly when watering to mimic tropical jungle conditions. It is best practice to keep the soil humid but never soggy.
