Philodendron spiritus-sancti is one of the rarest and most legendary Philodendrons in the plant collecting world.

Native to a very small region of Espírito Santo in Brazil, this species grows as a climbing aroid in humid tropical forests.

It is famous for its long, elegant pendant leaves which can reach extraordinary lengths when the plant matures.

Due to habitat loss and over-collection in the wild, this species became extremely rare in cultivation, which led to its status as one of the most sought-after collector plants.

Interesting fact: Mature leaves can exceed one metre in length in ideal conditions.

Care tips

Bright indirect light with high humidity.

Provide vertical support for climbing growth.

Use an airy soil mix rich in bark and organic matter.
