Frydek leaves are worth stopping for: soft, velvet green, bright veins and the sort of arrow-shaped outline that makes a fresh leaf opening feel like an event. Add variegation and the green is interrupted by pale patches, each leaf drawing its own map. That contrast comes from areas with less chlorophyll — the pigment that helps turn light into energy — so give this beauty good filtered light and time to grow.
Give it bright filtered light and let the pot begin drying at the surface before watering thoroughly. As growth slows in winter, the roots use less water too. Follow what the plant and compost are doing rather than watering because the calendar says so.
