Scindapsus ‘Silver Hero’

The Scindapsus ‘Silver Hero’ looks like somebody forged a houseplant out of liquid metal and rainforest attitude.

The leaves are thick.
Chunky.
Absolutely drenched in silver.

Not “a little shimmer if the sun hits it correctly” silver.

I mean proper futuristic armour-plated silver that makes nearby plants look like they forgot to dress properly.

It has that perfect balance rare collectors love.
Elegant enough to look expensive.

Strange enough to make visitors ask awkward questions whilst slowly touching the leaves without permission.

As it matures and climbs, the foliage becomes larger and even more dramatic, developing that bold metallic sheen that makes it look almost unreal in photos. One of those plants where people assume you’ve boosted the saturation but nope… it’s just showing off naturally.

Care is wonderfully uncomplicated:

Bright indirect light.
Chunky airy soil mix.
Water once the soil has partially dried.
Avoid turning the roots into soup.

It appreciates humidity, but thankfully doesn’t behave like a Victorian aristocrat collapsing over minor inconvenience.

Perfect for collectors wanting something sleek, rare-looking, and gloriously reflective without needing a ceremonial sacrifice every watering day.

A silver-coated jungle weapon.

One love, tiny phone people.

  • The following aroid mix I would like to share with you is working well for my Philodendrons:

    • Potting Soil (30%)
    • Orchid Bark (30%)
    • Perlite (30%)
    • Charcoal (5%)
    • Worm Castings (5%)

Water thoroughly when watering to mimic tropical jungle conditions. It is best practice to keep the soil humid but never soggy.
