Musa 'Florida Variegata' - 17cm pot / 40–50cm
Musa 'Florida Variegata' is a banana plant that has clearly decided ordinary green is not enough of an entrance.
Creamy striping and patches run through broad, paddle-shaped leaves, creating that wonderfully oversized tropical look. This 17cm-pot batch is a compact starting point for a plant that can demand considerably more space as it grows. Give it room around the leaves and a position where the whole shape can be appreciated.
I would keep it warm and very bright, introducing stronger sunlight gradually. During active growth it will appreciate regular watering and feeding, but cold, soggy roots are a poor combination. This is a tender ornamental banana, not a frost-hardy garden plant. Leaves may split naturally, especially after movement or wind; a little wear does not stop the jungle effect.
