Philodendron 'Fire Phoenix' - 6cm pot / 20cm
Philodendron 'Fire Phoenix' has turned up dressed for the party. Everyone else's green leaf is suddenly feeling underdressed.
This young philodendron is all about changing colour, with rosy and warm-toned new foliage alongside green and mottled areas. The balance shifts as leaves develop, so the display is never completely static. This 6cm-pot plant is a manageable way to start, with the pleasure of watching its next leaves take shape.
I would keep it warm and brightly lit without baking it in strong direct sun. Use an airy houseplant mix, let the surface start to dry between waterings and feed modestly while it is actively growing. The supplier photo illustrates the variety; it does not promise permanently pink leaves or an identical pattern on every plant.
