Anthurium veitchii - 12cm pot / 26cm+
Anthurium veitchii starts with a handsome leaf and works towards something extraordinary: long, hanging foliage with deep ribs running across the surface. A mature King Anthurium can look as though someone has pleated the entire leaf by hand.
This young plant is still developing that character, which is what makes it such a satisfying one to grow on. Give the leaves room to lengthen and the roots an airy mix with steady moisture. In nature this species grows on trees; its roots appreciate oxygen. Burying them in dense, permanently wet compost rather misses the point. Think warm, bright and humid, with gentle air movement.
One live plant in a 12cm nursery pot. Minimum height 26cm, including the pot. Listed heights are minimums; your plant will usually be taller. Leaf count, colour and markings vary naturally. Decorative pot not included.
Pet friendly: No — best kept away from pets that chew plants.
