Dark, richly patterned foliage, lighter green veins and those beautifully uneven outlines make this feel like a fragment of forest floor you've somehow persuaded to live indoors. There is so much going on across the leaf that it rewards a proper look. Then another. Then a photograph that never quite captures it.
Its botanical story leads back to Central America, with the original barsalouxiae description based on a plant collected in Honduras. This is a rhizomatous begonia: its growth comes from a creeping stem, gradually building that lovely spread of overlapping leaves. The asymmetrical leaf shape is part of the charm. Nature clearly didn't feel the need to get a ruler out.
I'd make this a close-up feature in a warm, humid collection, where its detail gets the attention it deserves. Gentle light and airflow help keep the show looking good.
