Ficus elastica ‘Shivereana’
The Rubber Plant That Got Carried Away With a Paintbrush
Most rubber plants play it safe.
Dark green leaves. Upright growth. Predictable.
Ficus elastica ‘Shivereana’ clearly missed that memo.
Believed to have originated as a naturally occurring mutation, this stunning cultivar has become one of the most desirable Ficus around. Each leaf emerges with an unpredictable blend of mint green, creamy yellow and darker green speckles, making every new leaf completely unique. Some look lightly dusted with colour, while others appear as though someone let a toddler loose with a tin of paint.
That’s exactly why collectors love it.
Like all rubber plants, it’s wonderfully uncomplicated to grow. Give it plenty of bright light and it’ll reward you with steady growth, thicker stems and increasingly impressive foliage. As it matures, it develops into a striking architectural plant that’s just as happy standing proudly on its own as it is amongst a sea of tropical leaves.
It’s proof that sometimes nature has a wonderfully chaotic side.
Plant Stats:
Light: Bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning or evening sun will help maintain strong variegation.
Water: Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry before watering thoroughly.
Humidity: Happy in average household humidity but appreciates a little extra.
Soil: A free-draining houseplant mix with plenty of aeration.
Why It’s Worth a Spot in Your Jungle:
Beautiful marbled foliage with completely unpredictable variegation.
Easy-going and ideal for beginners and seasoned collectors alike.
A striking architectural plant that grows into an impressive specimen.
Every single leaf is different, making each plant completely unique.
Limited availability. If you thought rubber plants were boring, Shivereana is here to prove you spectacularly wrong.

Reviews
My new plantling ( now named Francis) arrived today, clearly packaged with love and care. The plant is in great condition and lots of new growth to nurture and enjoy watching grow.
Thank you.
The colours on this is incredible still going strong
I love my new addition to my very mini jungle. I received a strong, healthy plant that has great colouring and shape. I’ve put it near my other ficus, which is bigly yuge, so I hope it’ll appreciate the position and be shamed in to growing just that little bit faster. This photo opportunity does represent its final position.
