Philodendron 'Florida Beauty'
The Variegated Superstar Every Collector Dreams About
Some plants quietly blend into the background. Philodendron 'Florida Beauty' was born with absolutely no intention of doing that.
Its spectacular lobed leaves are splashed with unpredictable streaks, marbling and sectors of creamy white, lime and emerald green, making every single leaf completely unique. No two plants are ever the same, and watching each new leaf unfurl feels like opening a present from Mother Nature herself.
A climbing aroid with tropical roots, Florida Beauty thrives when given something to climb. As it matures and works its way up a moss pole, the leaves become larger, more dramatic and even more impressive, turning an already stunning plant into a genuine showpiece.
Why You'll Love It
• Incredible cream and green variegation that makes every leaf unique.
• Beautifully lobed foliage that becomes more dramatic with age.
• A fast climber when given the right conditions.
• One of the most sought-after variegated Philodendrons in the hobby.Care
Light: Bright, indirect light is essential to maintain strong variegation. Avoid prolonged direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the lighter sections of the leaves.
Water: Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry before watering thoroughly. Never leave it sitting in water.
Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity, although it will happily adapt to most homes with good care.
Temperature: Best kept between 18°C and 28°C. Protect it from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.
The Bearded Plantaholic's Verdict
This isn't just another variegated plant. It's the sort of Philodendron that stops people mid-conversation. Every leaf arrives with its own personality, and that's exactly why collectors fall hopelessly in love with it. Give it a pole, give it some light, and stand back. The results are nothing short of spectacular.
Philodendron Florida Beauty - 10cm/25-30cm
The following aroid mix I would like to share with you is working well for my Philodendron:
- Potting Soil (30%)
- Orchid Bark (30%)
- Perlite (30%)
- Charcoal (5%)
- Worm Castings (5%)
Water thoroughly when watering to mimic tropical jungle conditions. It is best practice to keep the soil humid but never soggy.
