Anthurium ‘Docblock Michelle’
Anthurium ‘Docblock Michelle’ is a highly desirable hybrid created for its bold venation and luxurious velvet foliage. Anthuriums originate from Central and South American rainforests where they often grow as epiphytes on tree trunks or in leaf litter along the forest floor.
This hybrid inherits the dramatic veining typical of velvet Anthuriums while maintaining strong growth and adaptability as a houseplant.
In nature, many Anthuriums grow partially above the soil surface, allowing their roots to cling to bark and organic debris. This is why they thrive in extremely airy substrates containing bark, sphagnum moss and perlite.
Interesting fact: Anthurium leaves often increase dramatically in size as the plant matures. A small juvenile plant can eventually produce leaves several times larger once established.
Care tips:
Provide bright indirect light and high humidity.
Avoid compact soil. Anthuriums prefer airy substrates similar to orchid mixes.
Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between watering.

The following aroid mix I would like to share with you is working well for my Anthurium:
- leca (15%)
- Orchid Bark (20%)
- Perlite (25%)
- Horticultural grit (20%)
- Worm Castings (15%)
- Compost (5%)
Water thoroughly when watering to mimic tropical jungle conditions. It is best practice to keep the soil humid but never soggy.
