Monstera siltepecana – The Silver Ghost of the Jungle
Monstera siltepecana is your go-to if you want mystery, movement, and mesmerising foliage. With long, lance-shaped leaves brushed in cool silvery tones and veined with deep green, this underrated species offers a stunning contrast to your standard Monstera collection.
In its juvenile form, it creeps and trails beautifully — perfect for hanging baskets or low moss poles. But with age and vertical support, it begins to climb, and the leaves mature dramatically — often developing fenestrations and losing their silvery sheen.
Why This Plant Is a Must-Have:
Silver-patterned juvenile leaves – Eye-catching and unique
Climber or trailer – Grow it how you like it
Fenestrates as it matures – Classic Monstera DNA revealed over time
Fast grower – Satisfying for beginners and pros alike
Perfect for shelves, poles, or lush trailing displays
Grow it in bright, indirect light with a chunky aroid mix and moderate humidity, and you’ll be rewarded with beautiful progression — from ghostly silver vines to mature jungle drama.
Limited stock – Monstera siltepecana is a shape-shifting beauty that brings contrast, character, and movement to your collection. Grab it while you can.
Monstera Siltepecana - 12cm/25-30 cm
The following aroid mix I would like to share with you is working well for my Monstera:
- Potting Soil (30%)
- Orchid Bark (30%)
- Perlite (30%)
- Charcoal (5%)
- Worm Castings (5%)
Water thoroughly when watering to mimic tropical jungle conditions. It is best practice to keep the soil humid but never soggy.
