Scindapsus 'Mayari Variegata'

A Rare Splash of Tropical Perfection

If there were an award for effortlessly beautiful foliage, Scindapsus 'Mayari Variegata' would be firmly in the running.

Its thick, satin-textured leaves are adorned with an unpredictable blend of creamy white, mint, lime and rich emerald green. Every new leaf arrives with its own unique masterpiece of marbling and sectoral variegation, making no two plants, or even two leaves, exactly alike.

Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia through its Scindapsus lineage, this stunning climber naturally scales tree trunks in search of light. Give it a moss pole and it will reward you with larger, more mature foliage that becomes increasingly spectacular over time. Equally, it looks incredible cascading from a shelf or hanging planter.

Why You'll Love It

• Stunning cream, mint and green variegation on every leaf.
• Thick, satin-finished foliage with a luxurious feel.
• Can be grown climbing or trailing to suit your space.
• A rare collector's plant that's guaranteed to stand out.

Care

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal for maintaining strong variegation. Avoid prolonged direct afternoon sun, which may scorch the lighter areas of the leaves.

Water: Allow the top few centimetres of compost to dry before watering thoroughly. Ensure excellent drainage and never leave the roots sitting in water.

Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical household conditions.

Temperature: Thrives between 18°C and 28°C. Protect from cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.

The Bearded Plantaholic's Verdict

Some plants earn a place in your collection because they're rare. Others because they're beautiful. Scindapsus 'Mayari Variegata' manages to tick both boxes with ease. Every unfurl feels like opening a tiny work of art, and once it starts climbing, you'll find yourself checking for new leaves far more often than you'd care to admit.
